ABOUT > WHO WE ARE
Look around … it’s not unusual to see one of our pumps at the construction site down the road, or even at the largest and most challenging projects in the world. Whether cleaning up an oil spill in Alaska, dewatering a construction site for a nuclear power plant in Georgia, widening the Panama Canal, controlling hurricane floods in Florida, or simply helping to build the new apartment complex in the neighborhood, we are there.
That’s because for over 50 years Thompson pumps have stood up to some of the toughest challenges and harshest environments around. Since opening our doors in 1970 we’ve earned a reputation for building the highest quality pumps for construction, public works, mining, and water and wastewater projects. Our customers depend on us for everything from pump design to service and repair. And we back it up with customer training through our unique Pumpology school, geared to meet the specific needs of the variety of applications our line of pumps takes on. With dedicated service teams and distributors across the U.S. and overseas, coupled with our former years of experience in rental operations, we provide the expertise to help each customer complete their project efficiently and cost-effectively.
Back in 1973, George Thompson earned the reputation of innovator by designing the first rotary pump for dewatering — the original Thompson rotary wellpoint pump that has been trusted by contractors worldwide for more than 50 years. Our track record of advancing pump performance continues with innovative products such as the dry-prime pump Enviroprime System®, Silent Knight® and Arctic Knight®.
Today, equipped with our achievement of ISO 9001:2015 certification, the globally recognized standard of quality assurance, Thompson Pump forges ahead with new products and services and a winning combination of years of experience in precision manufacturing and unparalleled customer service.
